PLA Golf Academy is ideal for beginners looking to improve golf fundamentals in a fun environment, as well as great for juniors aspiring to play competitive golf or make their high school team. This program will also provide a spring board to help elevate the game of juniors who currently compete in competitive events, or seeking to earn a college scholarship.
Sherri Pla started PLA Golf Academy at Palm Beach Gardens Golf Course in the spring of 2010 and the attendance has more than doubled since then. Some of the children have made astonishing progress and are also playing in very competitive programs like US Kids, where Jack Nicholas‘ grand children play.
Sherri has successfully put together a developmental program using drill practice sessions, junior golf camps, private lessons and tournaments to help the youngsters improve their skills and learn all aspects of the game.
Your child will learn the basics and fundamentals of a good golf swing along with everything else that makes a good golfer:
PGA and LPGA member Sherri Pla oversees all instruction for PLA Golf Academy.
Some of her many accomplishments include FAU Hall of Fame member, Florida State Remax Long Drive Champion 2007, LPGA professional Sym Tour 2009, African American Hall of Fame member 2015, U.S Kids top 50 coach 2015, SFPGA Youth Golf Development Award 2015, SFPGA Player Development Award 2015, SFPGA Player Development Award 2016.
Her leadership skills to promote and develop junior golf at both club and community levels has created an amazing environment for juniors to develop excellent golf skills and a passion for the game of golf!
Most of all, because of Coach Sherri’s experience as a teacher, she knows how to make it fun for the kids while instilling a sense of competitiveness. Sherri knows how to motivate even the youngest golfer so they focus on the task at hand and work to improve their game.
All PLA Golf Academy Programs are First Tee principle programs. Participants learn and internalize the 9 core values.
Congratulations to all of our competing junior golfers for their perseverance, hard work and accomplishments.
